Aimée Zito Lema’s practice involves matters that surround social memory and the body as an agent of resistance, making use of large photographic prints, sculptural installations, and video. Born in Amsterdam and raised in Buenos Aires, the artist strongly identifies with the historical narratives of both countries.

She has studied at Universidad Nacional de las Artes (IUNA), Buenos Aires; at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam; and at the Royal Academy of Art, the Hague. She was an artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam.
