Lives and works between Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa
Bronwyn Katz creates pieces that incorporate sculpture, installation, video, and performance. Using the concept of land as a repository of memory, her work reflects the notion of place or space as lived experience, and thus, the ability of the land to remember and communicate the memory of its occupation.
Bronwyn studied at the University of Cape Town, where she has received the Simon Gerson Prize. In 2021, the artist’s work will be included in the upcoming New Museum Triennial in New York,
titled Soft Water Hard Stone.
